The relaxing getaway turns serious as the group tries to avoid government forces chasing Alina and swrah for the safety of a rebel stronghold. I enjoyed the slow start and the relationships building in this novel, which was highlighted very believably by the narrator. This is especially true of the main characters, all of whom I found flat and not the least bit compelling.
